Why Choose Mountain Blind Man?
FAQs
What are the best window treatments for homes in Prescott and Prescott Valley?
The best window treatments depend on your home's style, window sizes, sun exposure, and privacy needs. Solar shades are popular for reducing glare while preserving mountain views, while honeycomb cellular shades offer excellent insulation for Prescott's warm summers and cold winter nights. Plantation shutters, roller shades, and custom drapery are also great choices. During your free in-home consultation, we'll help you compare options and find the right solution for each room.
Do you offer free in-home consultations in Prescott and Prescott Valley?
Yes! Mountain Blind Man offers free in-home window treatment consultations throughout Prescott, Prescott Valley, and surrounding communities. We bring fabric samples, product information, and expert recommendations directly to your home. We'll discuss your needs, explore styles and operating options, take measurements, and prepare a detailed quote. There's no charge for the consultation.
Can window shades help keep my Prescott home warmer in winter and cooler in summer?
Absolutely. Prescott's higher elevation means homeowners experience both strong summer sunshine and cold winter temperatures. Hunter Douglas Duette® Honeycomb Shades feature insulating cellular construction that helps reduce heat transfer through windows. Solar shades can also help reduce unwanted solar heat gain and glare during warmer months. We'll help you select the right combination of comfort, light control, and energy efficiency.
Can I reduce afternoon sun and glare without losing my mountain views?
Yes. Hunter Douglas and Alta solar screen shades are designed to filter harsh sunlight while maintaining varying levels of visibility to the outdoors. They're particularly useful for large windows facing west or south. Different fabric colors and openness percentages affect how much light passes through and how clearly you can see outside. We'll bring samples to your home so you can compare them in your actual lighting conditions.
Do you install motorized blinds and shades in Prescott-area homes?
Yes. We specialize in Hunter Douglas PowerView® Automation, which allows compatible window shades to operate using a remote, smartphone, or automated schedule. Motorized shades are especially helpful for tall windows, large glass doors, and hard-to-reach areas. With the appropriate Gateway and internet connection, you can also manage compatible shades remotely when you're away from home.
Are plantation shutters a good choice for Prescott and Prescott Valley homes?
Plantation shutters are an excellent choice for many Prescott-area homes. Their classic appearance complements traditional, ranch-style, Southwestern, and contemporary interiors. Hunter Douglas shutters are available in genuine hardwood, composite, and Polysatin™ materials, offering different options for appearance, durability, and moisture resistance. Their adjustable louvers also provide convenient control over natural light and privacy.
Do you offer outdoor patio screens and retractable awnings in Prescott?
Yes. Mountain Blind Man offers MagnaTrack motorized exterior screens and custom retractable patio awnings for suitable outdoor living spaces. MagnaTrack screens can help reduce sunlight, wind, dust, and insects in covered patios and porches, while retractable awnings provide flexible overhead shade for decks and patios. Both are great options for enjoying Prescott's outdoor lifestyle with greater comfort.
Can you help with window treatments for a newly built home in Prescott Valley?
Absolutely. We work with homeowners selecting window treatments for newly constructed homes, including large windows, sliding glass doors, bedrooms, and open-concept living areas. Our team can help coordinate styles and fabrics throughout the home while balancing privacy, light control, energy efficiency, and budget. For the most accurate fit, we take final measurements once the windows and surrounding trim are completely installed.
